I know this is not original, but I forgot about the contest until today and this is what I came up with. I put together this necklace using metallic beads, glass beads and oh those big beads used to be a Cheerios box. My husband hates when I make these beads because I seal them with clear nail polish.

His and Her's September Challenge
So far I have made these, the picture is using the front of the rule book, money and a matte. I used a Dollar Store frame that I spray painted blue. I used the money to make paper beads and paired it with a token from the game and pearls to make a sweet little bracelet that I think I will give to a friend's daughter when the challenge is over.

Owl Necklace
These are paper beads made from a paper bag painted copper, glass beads and an owl focal. The glass beads were $2 or so at Wal*mart and the focal (also from Wal*mart) was $3 so a pretty cheap project. I already had the paper painted copper ready to go from another project so I only had to roll the beads and finish them http://www.favecrafts.com/Bracelets/Recycled-Paper-Bag-Bracelets and as always I recommend a Krafti Roller for the beads http://justjenndesignz.blogspot.com/2009/02/rolled-paper-beads.html. I also had the findings on hand (jump rings, closure and crimps).

His and Hers Challenge #1
I was a little intimidated by this contest when they first started talking about it. I went back and forth on whether I should enter or not. There was a lot of talk about toothbrushes O.o I entered anyway and I am excited about the first contest. We are supposed to take a game that we get for cheap and make something crafty from it. My first thought was Monopoly and I happened to find a Spongebob one that the lady who is selling it to me is letting me have for cheap. What will I create? Stay tuned!

Paper Bag Bead necklaces
I love these beads, they are fun to make and use whatever color acrylic paint you have...Here I have made them gold and copper.

Can you believe these were once lowly paper bags?
I use my Kraft-i Roller to make these with.

Brooch Bracelet
Check out this bracelet I just made. I love it. My skin is pale, even though I go into the sun. At least I don't sparkle ;)
I bet you have everything to make it. You need beads (I used what I had on hand, some purple Czech beads, metallic plastic beads and glass pearls), a brooch and stretchy stringing material and maybe some glue. I am about to make another one, I love this one so much! I had these brooches that my mom gave me and used one of them (so far) to make a bracelet I will wear often. Here is the tutorial from the talented Oskana B, this girl is amazing.

Baby's got a brand new bed
I made these with upcycled blankets, cloth I had on hand, clementine crates and Valspar Spray Paint in Exotic Sea (available at any Lowe's). I made a simple mattress with cloth, buttons and polyfil.
Bipolar Dolls
Here are my dolls. I call them my Bipolar dolls. I call them this because even though they are made from the same socks, they are different in how they look and their emotions. The last two sets were made for my friend Melanie, who said "I need these dolls in my life". Use the larger sizes for bigger dolls, smaller sizes for smaller dolls. I got the socks for $1 (3 pack) at the Dollar Tree and that makes two dolls. I got the "pattern" to make these from this website http://tearosehome.blogspot.com/2012/05/link-party-no79-dollar-store-sock-dolls.html
I just used items on hand to make their hair/faces. I am making beds for some of them out of clementine crates. Updates soon!

Arizona Tea Earrings and a Necklace
Gypsy Bracelet
I made this bracelet from an Arizona Green Tea can. You can get them at 7-11 literally all day long for $.99 a can and you get a lot of tea, and plus it tastes good. I usually get a couple at a time. I got a 3/4" hole punch from Michael's today and they were 40% off so I got to use my 50% off coupon on something else. Chris calls it a Gypsy Bracelet because it is shiny and is made from metal disks that make a jingling sound. It is a really cool bracelet. I can't take credit for this, I saw it on Etsy from Sodacangirl http://www.etsy.com/listing/50573573/soda-can-bracelet-arizona-green-tea?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=arizona+tea+can+bracelet&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_search_type=all

Marvin the Martian Bracelet Watch
How do you guys like my Marvin the Martin watch? This is an old watch that I had that my ex-husband gave me. It is one of the few things I kept that he gave me. I lost one of the pins that holds the watch band on and I fixed it with a jump ring and E6000 glue. I made links with beads left over from another project. It just needs a new battery.

Glitter Bread Dough Pendant Necklace
This project comes from Cool2Craft's Candace Jedrowicz http://www.favecrafts.com/Pendants/Glitter-Bread-Dough-Pendant It is made from glitter, a bread slice, and tissue paper with a few other items that you probably have around the house. I got my tissue paper from (you guessed it) the Dollar Tree and it was a rose print in a package with other prints. They are beautiful beads, although they were time consuming to make as all handmade paper beads are. I decided to pair the tissue paper beads with some crackle glass beads that I had on hand and I strung them on Acculon instead of the silk cord. I used Triple Thick to seal the pendant. I used regular (not fine) glitter that I had on hand. I did not stamp this one, I may try that with the next one that I make. I am pleased with how it turned out.

If you have beads and paperclips, you can make these bracelets! This is from Emi Harrington http://www.favecrafts.com/Bracelets/Paper-Clip-Bracelets/ml/1

Sunglasses Lens Pendant
I saw these on Jewels of Sayuri
http://jewelsofsayuri.blogspot.com/2012/03/sunglases-pendant-tutorial.html
Divya has a lot of cool posts, you should check her out. As you can see, I used some wrapping paper for this particular one. I made the necklace from bugle beads that I had on hand since I was out of chains. I want to make more, maybe some Alice in Wonderland and Lenore (Little Dead Girl) ones.

Plastic Bottle Necklace Upcycle
Here is a necklace that is made from straws and a plastic bottle. In my case, it was a Diet Coke bottle since I don't drink water. You will need beads, a marker, tacky glue and fabric too. I bet you already have all of this stuff on hand. I did, with one exception. This is from EcoHeidi Borchers http://www.cool2craft.com/plastic-water-bottle-necklace-with-square-pendant-by-ecoheidi-borchers/ I had to go to the craft store to get more beads in the middle of the project (the exception). I ended up only doing two stands of beads and I used Acculon to string the beads on. I decided not to add beads to the pendant. I am very pleased with the end result and I love Cool 2 Craft!

Washer Bracelets
This bracelet comes to us from Sew Many Ways http://sewmanyways.blogspot.com/2011/06/tool-time-tuesdaywasher-bracelet.html
As you can see, I made one like hers and one with purple hearts and pearls that I had in my stash. I made the one with pearls and hearts with a lobster clasp and the other with a toggle clasp which I recommend since it is easier to get on and off. This was a simple bracelet to make and is adorable and dainty considering it is made from washers.

Book Page Necklace and meet Shelly
Shelly is my necklace display. I made her using this tutorial from Shealynn's Faire Shoppe http://shealynns-faerie-shoppe.blogspot.com/2011/09/book-page-necklace-display.html
It is hard to believe that she is made from a Cheerios box. I have a lot of sheet music paper so that is what I covered Shelly with but use whatever you have on hand.
The necklace displayed is one my favorites and the quote is from The Dark Tower by Stephen King. Here is the blog that has the tutorial from Adrianne of Happy Hour Projects http://www.happyhourprojects.com/2012/03/book-page-necklace.html I liked mine without the charm so I left it plain. I didn't want to cut up a book that I loved so I typed out the quote and printed it out. I also stained the paper using coffee. In case you are wondering, I got the frame and the necklace from Hobby Lobby.
